Pastis Frappé, an original creation

Pastis Anista Frappé is a cocktail that is a symbol of Provence, with its herbaceous, aniseed flavour evoking the lavender fields and hilltop villages of the region. But where does this delicious cocktail come from? 

Pastis Frappé was created in London in 2023 by the Barman of The Other House Hotel in South Kensington.He gave the recipe to Theo, Le Vadrouilleur.

The Italian-born barman was inspired by the drinks Sambuca and Disaronno to invent Pastis Frappé.

With its simple recipe and high-quality ingredients, it’s easy to create this delicious cocktail at home. Enjoyed as an aperitif with friends or family, Pastis Frappé symbolises the spirit of relaxation and good humour. 

Ingredients

4 cl Pastis Anista

ice cubes

juice of one lemon 

2 cl orgeat syrup 

Mint or basil leaves (optional)

The recipe

1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.

2. Pour in the Pastis Anista.

3. Add the lemon juice and orgeat syrup and mix well.

4. Leave to stand for a few minutes to allow the flavours to blend.

5. Garnish with basil or mint leaves if you like.
